Even before my habilitation in 2012 and the granting of the official venia legendi (teaching permit) for gastrointestinal microbiology, I taught at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen in the department of agricultural sciences, nutritional science and environmental management on probiotic foods and human-microbe interactions. I also have experience in training and congress organization for doctors, dentists, pharmacists, alternative practitioners and nutritionists.
In a medium-sized company I developed methods for the detection of microorganisms and have experience in the areas of dietary supplements, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics and medical products.
During my studies of biology in Oldenburg (Germany), Cork (Ireland) and St. Petersburg (Russia). I found my hobbyhorse in micro and molecular biology. During my doctorate, I worked at the only chair for gastrointestinal microbiology in Germany at the German Institute of Nutritional Research.
From 2008 to 2013 member of the Commission for Biological Hazards at the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (Berlin, Germany). Since 2014 member of the scientific advisory board of the Furtwangen University and the Old Herborn University, Herborn.
